I found a video on youtube where they describe the rules of fight club using typography. Last semester we had to do a print project something like this so I was curious to watch the video. I really liked the video and wished that we could do a project using typography to create a video. I think it's the best way to mix print design to new media.

The Tree Saver

Jim Mauget has invented the "Mauget Q120 Forest Saver". When he was receiving I.V. he thought that he could do the same with trees to keep them hydrated and alive. He's previous models were done by hand and were time consuming. The new model uses technology that delivers information to the tree injector at the right pressure and is able to save ten times more trees each day.

Wristwatch Phones

The Chinese were the first to invent a working wrist watch phone available to the public. There are now more designs from more countries. Although it seems like a cool idea to have a wristwatch phone, it looks more inconvenient than anything. They all appear to be big and clunky. The Australian model is the tiniest of all but the screen is only the size of a postage stamp. The Chinese model boast of its camera but has a disclaimer that says "image may vary slightly from the actual product".
A wristwatch phone seems pointless now. With all the technology we have, a cell phone wristwatch just seems like a walkie talkie.

HP Teleconferencing

Hewlett Packard has designed a new way to teleconference. It's called Halo and is intended to bring people from around the globe into an environment that feels as if they are in the same room. Every room has half a table opposite three plasma screens. Halo was created for a more effective collaboration.
Not only will this help and enhance creative collaboration, it will also help save money on travel. With everyone trying to be more green, this seems like a perfect solution for companies.

LG Synthesis- A Concept Phone

This project was done by a high school student for the LG Design competition.  Although it is similar to the iphone, the designer has add features such as a rubber back that makes it easy to clean, prevents scratches, softens falls and makes it easier to hold. The back also has a camera and the front has a video camera for video conferencing. Everything about the design is sleek, including the charger. The charger looks like a tree and the phone hangs from it. When on the phone is on the charger, the charger works as a speaker. The speaker is also wireless. I liked the design because of the presentation of it. It is very clean and the colors complement the design

One Hour Design

On the website core77.com they have one hour challenges. The article I read was about the Design a sneaker for cycling. The reason I wanted to read this article is because I usually get stumped and it takes me days before starting a project. I wanted to read and find out how these people are able to think of an idea and complete it in one hour. The one that I really liked was the yellow Nike livestrong one.  I like that you can see the inspiration of the bike helmet in the design of the shoe.

RSK Mimique

The Mimique is like the iphone but with a more playful design. The phone has a next generation style and touch screen technology. It has software that will allow users to download new features and upgrades without having to purchase a new phone. The Mimique is a product of google.
